AQA Unseen June 2025 Model answers

2 high grade model responses to the 24 mark question in the AQA exam about the poem Table by Robert Hull and 2 high grade model responses for the 8 mark method comparison question where students were asked to compare ‘Table’ to ‘Like a Beacon’ by Grace Nichols.

By placing the 2 model answers side by side, students are invited to compare the success of each model answer. In the 24 mark response, response A may be better at commenting on the impact methods (including structural methods which students often find it difficult to talk about) while response B is better at sharing impressions, alternative interpretations and maintaining a thread about how a feeling of nostalgia is conveyed in the poem. The questions and the poems themselves are not included but are easy to find online.
