A STEM teaching and learning resource that explores engineering through the technology we communicate and connect with.
Through discussion, inquiry and practical activity, students aged 8 to 14 will learn how we connect and communicate with mobile phones, GPS and AI technology in addition to building problem solving skills linked to coding, programming, encryption and cyber security.

Students will learn about the electromagnetic spectrum and some of its modern applications, ‘find their friends’ on a map of the UK and Ireland using ‘trilateration’ (what GPS receivers use), consider the ethics around technology surrounding AI, use algorithms to guide their classmates through building shapes using tangrams, programme a virtual Sphero ball and use their code breaking skills to decrypt text.
