A task designed to help students structure their dissections.
I found my class were reluctant to sketch their own rectangle and triangle and therefore we making using the incorrect lengths. So the worksheet gives them the rectangle and triangle drawn for the first three, then the space is left for them to draw them for themselves for the next three.
Very structured and designed to encourage students to draw and label the two shapes they are using, a skill they will need to use a lot to solve problems.

Ideal for supporting students to divide a trapezium into a rectangle and triangle to calculate the area of a right trapezium. Could be used as a nice activity for compound areas or as precursor to using the actual formula. Thank you for sharing.
