Double-sided sheet for a mixed lesson.

The first side is a listening exercises based around music for occasions - a great introduction to getting students to compose their own music. The second side is a short Aretha Franklin tribute asking students to appreciate her skill as a musician and vocalist, but also her significance as a hugely successful black American woman - opportunity for class discussion of the racial/cultural climate in the Deep South in the 40s, gospel roots, her being asked to sing at Obama’s Presidential ceremony etc.
