Have your students think critically about fiction and non-fiction texts with this 6 day mini unit. Your students will ask and answer questions about fables, realistic fiction, and informational texts, as well as create a culminating project using facts they've learned about dinosaurs!

This unit is aligned to the standard: ELACC3RI1 and ELACC3RL1: Ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers.

This unit includes...

Day 1: Using the text to answer our questions (in fiction texts).
Day 2: Using the text to answer our questions in fables.
Day 3: Asking and answering questions from informational texts (infer and question).
Day 4: Asking and answering questions from informational texts (question and answering).
Day 5: Asking our own questions and using the text to answer them.
Day 6: Asking and answering questions (summarize and retell).
