An extremely detailed lesson which focusses on the first three stanzas of the poem. The lesson refers to the three assessment objectives for the IGCSE People and Places Anthology. However, the AOs can simply be deleted or adjusted for your chosen exam board. The starter activity is differentiated for low, middle and high ability students. The worksheets which will allow the students to analyse the poem are also differentiated for low, middle and high ability students. This lesson is ideal for a formal observation focussing upon differentiation and student led learning. Towards the end of the lesson, students “teach” their peers what they have discovered about their designated stanza.
