Help mixed-attainment learners move from choosing useful words to writing a cohesive descriptive paragraph through four engaging autumn scenes.

Autumn Look - Notice - Describe is an age-respectful, differentiated writing pack for secondary SEN classrooms. Every learner can work from the same photo-style stimulus while receiving a genuinely different level of language support.

The progression moves through:

  • Early KS1: point, circle, say and build 1-2 sentences
  • KS1: collect details and write two sentences
  • Early KS2: select precise vocabulary and write 3-4 linked sentences
  • KS2: plan detail, atmosphere and inference before writing a cohesive paragraph

Included:

  • 25-page combined master PDF
  • four separate level PDFs, with eight pages in each
  • 16 differentiated stimulus worksheets
  • four reusable own-choice writing mats
  • four autumn stimuli: woodland path, pumpkin market, rainy park and squash soup
  • Teacher / TA Quick Guide
  • progression overview
  • word banks and sentence support
  • level-specific model responses
  • printable A4 format

The resource supports pointing, circling, speech, AAC and adult scribing. It is suitable for mixed-attainment classes, literacy intervention, independent work, cover lessons and small-group teaching.

Designed for secondary pupils aged 11-14 who are working from Early KS1 to KS2 literacy levels, including learners with autism, dyslexia, language needs and learning difficulties.

The pack is seasonal but not Halloween-specific, so it can be reused every autumn.
