This resources contains a comprehensive introduction to average speed and caculations using d= s x t. Included is a differentiated powerpoint, calculations worksheet with keywords, learning objectives, differentiated outcomes and a range of activities to allow your students to explore this topic. It uses language and models which allow students to access the fundamental concept of calculating speed, distance and time. Included are learning objectives for grades (3-9). A model answer which scaffolds the calculations needed and allows student to learn how to structure there work when completing calculations related to d= s x t. The PPT is differentiated throughout with extension tasks for the more able learner. There is an exam style assessment at the end for students to test their knowledge.
