We have a high turnover of pupils and these “Boarding Passes” serve as assessments to identify gaps in learning new pupils might have. Pupils are encouraged to simply ‘have a go’ and leave blank any details they do not know. At the end of teaching the topic revisit the boarding pass and fill in/improve the answers. We have found these boarding passes are popular with all pupils. They also seem to create a desire to know more and an anticipation to learn the topic.
