This lesson is based on the books " The day the crayons quit" and “The day the crayons came home”.
It is about Duncan’s crayons that have been left behind in various locations around the world and each crayon has sent him postcards to remind him they are still lost. It was used for a book themed day, but could be adapted to a series of cross curricular lessons in one off themed unit.

The aim of the unit was to create a class book of Postcards from around the world and locations that are important to the children. This meant that it was heavily linked to geography as the children had to locate where Duncan’s Crayons were and where their own made up crayons were. These postcards can be printed off and folded to create a real post card. We printed ours off and used some on our giant world map using string and some on a laminated book in our Book Corner.
