A printable, pdf booklet to guide students through a study on John Boyne’s novel, ‘The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas’. It is focussed on enriching students’ understanding and awareness of the holocaust and developing their interest in reading and writing.

This document utilises Boyne’s novel as a model text and students are encouraged to write in both imaginative and persuasive styles. The first half of the booklet is focussed on narrative while the second half explores rhetoric and expands student visual literacy skills.

The pdf if ‘flipable’. So when viewed as a pdf, the second half of the booklet will seem upside-down. However, when printed, students will be able to easily switch between the narrative and persuasive halves of their booklet, by flipping it.
