In this task pupils have to identify the minimum value, lower quartile, median, upper quartile and maximum value from two boxplots. They then have to compare the data (for plants grown inside and outside the greenhouse). I used this as a starter task to recap box plots.

An excellent resource that is very clear for students to answer. This ensures students can accurately read from a box plot and then leads into comparisons nicely. Could be used as a plenary at the end of box plots or a quick recap activity for GCSE students.
