Boy in the Striped Pyjamas year 7 mixed ability full term SOW

Full term SOW (over 140 slides) to teach Boy in the Striped Pyjamas to a mixed ability year 7 class. As a first reading topic the lessons gradually introduce students to inference skills and annotating language. Many opportunities to build analytical writing skills, with modelled examples, writing frames and peer assessment support. Range of extracts and examples from the text and some more creative tasks too, such as creative writing and a practical lesson building models of the view from Bruno's room.
Emphasis on context to build this skill and all slides/ tasks clearly differentiated. Includes remembrance lesson at the end using Holocaust poetry.
