Alcohol and Caffeine Activities Bundle (UK)

Students learn about the reasons why teens start to drink, the effects/risks of drinking, alcohol dependence, and addiction. Using hot seating, two students assume the characters of Jess and Rochelle. Rochelle invites Jess to an after school gathering and Jess drinks alcohol for the first time. Jess continues to drink and on another social occasion, turns up already drunk. Rochelle posts videos of Jess when she is drunk. Includes illustrated story, dependence and addiction displays, and lesson plan. Students learn about caffeine (energy drinks) as a stimulant, the side effects of too much caffeine and calculate their own daily amount. Includes 2 illustrated worksheets, caffeine calculator worksheet, and answer sheet. Students learn about a route to getting addicted to alcohol and reasons why kids start drinking. Includes a group words/phrases activity and a group writing activity about Ethan who is starting to drink every day and explore alternative outcomes for him, lesson plan and ‘Reasons Why Teens Start to Drink Alcohol’ display.
