A collection of four A* standard essays for Cambridge A-Level History (9489) Paper 4: Stalin’s Russia. I achieved an A* for History in the Cambridge A-Level October/November 2022 Examinations and was awarded the Outstanding Cambridge Learners High Achievement Award for History.
The responses to the following titles are included:

  1. To what extent does Stalin’s use of his position as General Secretary of the Communist Party explain his rise to power by 1928?
  2. Assess the effectiveness of Stalin’s industrial policy.
  3. The main reason why Stalin remained in power was because of his use of terror.’ Discuss this view.
  4. ‘‘Totalitarian rule was a means to an end for Stalin, and not an end in itself.’ How far do you agree?

Note: These are essays that were written by me, and shared to help students understand how to structure their own essays for CIE A-Level History. Please DO NOT PLAGIARISE. Thank you.
