Cell Book Activity with rubric and answer key

Students will be making a cell book with the organelles listed below:

• Cell Wall, Centriole, Centrosome, Chloroplast, Cytoplasm, Cytoskeleton, Golgi Apparatus, Lysosome, Microtubule, Mitochondria, Nuclear Envelope, Nuclear Pore, Nucleolus, Nucleus, Plasma Membrane, Ribosome, Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum, Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, Vesicle, Vacuole.
  • Each organelle will have the following
    • Organelle name, the type of cell it is found in (animal or plant), structure, and function.

• Four different instruction sheets for classroom differentiation.
  • Student creates entire book with blank paper.
  • Student creates book with printed organelle sheets.
  • Student creates book by gluing organelles and their functions to printed organelle sheets.
  • Student creates book by circling the organelle in an image and using a function bank (like a word bank).
• All pages needed for printing (depending on the version you will be using).
• Editable rubrics (PPT format).
  • Two completed rubrics and a blank rubric.
• A completed cell book to use as an answer key.
