This engaging and thought-provoking triple lesson is the final lesson in a series designed to accompany the class reading of E.B. White’s 'Charlotte’s Web’ This lesson focuses particularly on the events of chapters 20-22.

The comprehensive and colourful PowerPoint presentation (26 slides) guides learners on a step-by-step journey towards understanding the text through:
-Retrieving key information;
-Inferring important meanings;
-Sequencing and summarising text events.

The lesson contains a range of retrieval, vocabulary, inference and deeper thinking activities. For the deeper thinking task, children sequence the main events of the text and then use an original template to help them to summarise the story.

There is a lot of content here, so I would suggest perhaps breaking this up over two or even three lessons. The resources have been tried and tested for students in years 3-4, but may be adapted for other age groups, depending upon the individual context of the school and students.
