This resource has been made for you to use during Children’s Mental Health Week (6th - 12th February). The theme for this year is ‘Let’s Connect’. More information about the event can be found at: www.childrensmentalhealthweek.org.uk

The aim of this activity is for children to think about the connections that they have with others. when children have healthy connections with others it makes them feel good about themselves and have a sense of belonging. Connections can also be with places, pets and activities. When children lack healthy connections it can lead to feelings of isolation and poor mental health.

In this activity children will first think about the connections that they have with others, they will then add colour to the pipes and background and write their connections on different sections of the pipes.

The artwork squares can then be cut out and the children can connect their pipes together with the rest of the class -making a lovely display for mental health week and showing the children how they all fit together and connect with each other as a class.

Minimal art supplies are needed- just something to colour with and scissors.
This resource has been designed for KS2 but it could also be used with other age groups depending on ability.
