Rich and decadent chocolate tart.

Ingredients

150g plain white flour
25g icing sugar, sieved
75g unsalted butter
2 eggs
200g dark chocolate
75ml milk
125ml whipping cream

Method

  1. Sieve icing sugar into flour
  2. Rub in butter until it resembles breadcrumbs
  3. Add the egg and make a firm dough
  4. Roll out pastry and cover a 17cm (7 inch) baking dish/tin
  5. Use a knife to pierce holes into the base of the pastry base or line and use baking beans while cooking
  6. Cook pastry base in a preheated oven at 180 C fan oven/200 C no fan for 10 mins
  7. Remove paper and beans and cooker for a further 5 minutes and remove
  8. Reduce the oven temperature to 140 C fan oven/120 C no fan
  9. For the filling, melt chocolate in a glass bowl placed on a saucepan containing hot water. Turn up the heat.
  10. Place the cream and milk in a saucepan and boil.
  11. Place the cream mixture in a bowl
  12. Add a beaten egg and mix
  13. Add the melted chocolate and stir
  14. Place the melted chocolate into the pastry base
  15. Put into the oven for around 25 minutes or until set.
