This lesson provides opportunity for students to discover the main features of ferns and flowering plants (dicotyledons and monocotyledons) of the plant kingdom. Students start the lesson with a recall classification exam questions and review the 5 kingdoms. The main body of the lesson is for students to research the four main plant groups and then delve deeper in the specific characteristics of ferns and flowering plants. Students then identify differences between monocotyledons and dicotyledons. The lesson concludes with CIE specific exam questions. Mark scheme included. Finally there is also a CIE specific test that can be used as a summative assessment for the whole of unit one - Characteristics and Classification of Living Organisms. Mark scheme included
