To help students build the vocabulary needed to study films, and identify different techniques. Basic Sorting Activity, and stretch for more able students by asking for the effect on the audience. Allows for differentiation, and has been used for KS3 and KS4.
Can be used in Media/Cinema Studies and in English and can be edited.

Includes step-by-step instructions to ensure students follow the task in a clear order:
1) Attach the Terminology page in your book.
2) Cut out the definitions below.
3) Sort the definitions to match the Term you think it belongs to. DO NOT GLUE UNTIL CHECKED.
4) Write what effect you think the technique has. How it is supposed to make the audience think or feel?
5) Glue in and throw away all rubbish.
