These effective worksheets can be used as part of the reciprocal reading scheme or as part of a one off grammar lesson.

It is so important for children to be able to infer meaning from unknown words without being able to rush straight for a dictionary. To find out the meanings of the words in this task, dictionaries are definitely not an option!

With red words being in a totally different language, children must use the rest of the sentence to make sense out of the gobbledygook. This also works fantastically in encouraging children to understand how sentences are formed - also the purpose of each word class.

The words used in these worksheets are German and French - Perfect for integrating cross-curricular language links.
