Classroom Wall Display: Mapping RE (visualising RE/RS in a worldly context)

The information boxes and pictures to create a display ‘mapping RE’. I have included information about the Buddha, Martin Luther King, Jerusalem, Jesus, Mecca, Vatican City, the Pope, the Angkor Wat, Nelson Mandela, the Golden Temple in Amritsar, the Buddhapadipa Temple in London, Yee Peng lantern festival, Holi, Anne Frank, 9/11, Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow, the Taj Mahal, Gandhi, the Day of the Dead, Lourdes, the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Dalai Lama.

Students have loved coming and exploring the map and seeing how what they are learning educates them about the world around them. I would suggest adding something also from the local context to you.

You will need your own world map poster, which you can buy easily online.
