Two lessons looking at Victorian poetry: London by William Blake and A March Day in London by Amy Levy. Gives students the chance to study a GCSE poem alonsgide a lesser known poem.
Lessons include: poems, PowerPoint, self/peer assessment, GCSE mark scheme (AQA) and worksheet.
These resources have worked well with Year 9 to prepare them for GCSE poetry study, especially focussing on comparison. The peer and self assessment aspect helps students draw on where they are and what they need to do, to make improvements to their own analysis.
