This collection of 11 engaging reading comprehension books has been designed to help children practise their Read Write Inc. Set 2 sounds while developing their phonics, decoding, reading fluency and comprehension skills.

Each book focuses on Set 2 sounds and gives children opportunities to apply their phonics knowledge when reading words, sentences and short passages. The activities provide regular practice with sounds such as ay, ee, igh, ow, oo, ar, or, air, ir and ou.

Children are encouraged to read and reread each text, identify words containing the focus sound, find information, highlight or choose answers and write their own responses. This combination of phonics practice and comprehension helps children develop both their reading accuracy and understanding.
