Conjunction Lesson Plans for Beginner and Elementary ESL Students

Two complete PPT lessons plans, one specifically for beginners and one for elementary students. The slides and accompanying activities take students step-by-step through the rules and uses of basic conjunctions. Beginners are introduced to FANBOYS - and, but, or, so - as well as sequencers (connectives). In the lesson for elementary students, the concept of subordinating conjunctions is introduced, highlighting the use of because, although and the subordinators of time - when, before and after.

Each lesson activates speaking, listening and reading with grammar practice. Whilst both are designed for 60 minute classes of up to 8 students, they work equally well, if not better, as 90 minute lessons.

The detailed teacher instructions guide your through the lesson and a practice worksheet. It should be noted that the vocabulary used for the activities may need to be pre-taught if your students are not already familiar.
