Subject: PSHE
Curriculum: Following 2025 National Curriculum
Year: Year 7
**Lesson 4: **Consent and Communication
A clear and supportive PSHE lesson introducing consent, communication and personal boundaries.
This lesson is part of the Sense of Belonging module and focuses on understanding consent in the context of friendships and everyday interactions. It does not explore romantic relationships at this stage. Students learn how to recognise and communicate boundaries, respect others, and build healthy, positive connections.
The resource includes TWO full lessons:
Lesson 4: Consent and Communication (the updated version aligned with 2025 guidance and currently used by the author)
Valuing Different Opinions (the previous version, still fully usable and offering similar themes)
There is some overlap between the two, giving teachers flexibility and extra value for money. You can choose the version that best fits your curriculum, or use both if your timetable allows two sessions on this theme.
Each lesson includes a complete PowerPoint, worksheet, key content and practical activities, all designed with a low‑cognitive‑load style so students stay focused without feeling overwhelmed.
This lesson is part of the full Year 7 PSHE scheme on TES, available individually or as a cost‑saving bundle.
