Before work could begin on building the new Francis Crick Institute, archaeologists from Museum of London Archaeology went in to excavate the planned building site, close to St Pancras Station and the British Library. Their findings shed light on the area's changing history, from fields through to slums, before becoming an important distribution hub for goods coming into London - the Somers Town Goods Yard.
