Creative Prose Writing SOL

This 4 week fully resourced SOL including all lessons in PowerPoint form, an accompanying Medium-Term Plan document, all resources and assessments will develop students narrative and descriptive writing abilities and introduce them to new strategies for success in the Creative Prose Writing sections of the English Language GCSE.

Built around a ‘full marks’ narrative which is dissected throughout the unit to highlight the skills and strategies taught including:
• SMART Narratives
• A range of four-story opening methods
• A range of four-story resolution methods
• 4-part planning
• Moral messages & Purpose
• Common SPAG errors Assault Course
• Using punctuation for effect in a narrative
• Using sentences variety for effect in a narrative
• Playing with chronology for effect in a narrative
• Developing flat and rounded characters

Challenge lesson also included covering aspect, tense and active/passive voice
