Creative Writing / Flash Fiction - Writing 100-word stories

Firstly, students explore a six-word story (Hemingway) to create a narrative.

They then look at two sample 100 word stories, analysing the use of language/structure to create meaning through questions/FLASH marking/annotation.

Following this, they use one of the images provided to plan their vocabulary/techniques to help them with writing their own stories. FLASH codes are provided for students for feedback/improvement. Sentence starters are provided.

Finally, students peer assess their work and then edit accordingly.

This Unit of Work could easily stretch over 2/3 lessons.
