These three lessons are designed for high-ability Key Stage 3 or low-ability Key Stage 4. The sequence of lessons cover the conventions of the gothic genre and multiple creative writing tasks using ‘Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ and ‘The Woman in Black’ as stimuli.

The learning objectives for the three lessons are as follows:

  2. To create a gothic character with a split personality using a shift in tone
  3. To create an inner monologue for a gothic character
