The ppt introduces students to three logical fallacies: hasty generalisation, post hoc and slippery slope. In small groups they then look at four newspaper articles which are each based around one of the fallacies (though it's not really that clear cut; each article may show more than one type of fallacy). They try to spot the fallacies. Sections of the articles which are not essential reading for understanding the key ideas are greyed out. Definitions of some more difficult words are given at the end of each article. Students could also try coming up with their own fallacious arguments.
