Every scenario begins after the feeling has already arrived. Unlike traditional discussion resources, **CROSSROADS: The Pause **does not ask students what they think about a situation. It places them inside the moment where a decision has to be made.

Students are presented with six realistic scenarios where emotions, pressure, certainty or curiosity create a powerful urge to act. Before any discussion takes place, they must commit to a choice. Only then does the conversation begin.

This simple structure creates genuine disagreement, deeper reasoning and richer discussion because students are defending their own thinking rather than following the loudest voice in the room.

Includes six realistic scenarios exploring:

  • Friendship and trust
  • Group pressure
  • Arguments and conflict
  • Responsibility and accountability
  • Reputation and credibility
  • Confidential information

Unlike many discussion activities, there are no perfect answers. Every path carries a cost.

Includes:

  • 6 discussion scenarios
  • Editable PowerPoint
  • Full facilitation guidance
  • Teacher notes and scenario insights
  • Suitable for tutor time, PSHE or character education

The key question throughout: What was the voice saying that made this feel urgent?

Part of The Pause Collection.
Assembly → Notice the pattern
Lesson → Understand the pattern
CROSSROADS → Practise the pattern
Poster → Remember the pattern

Key idea: Urgency is a feeling, not a fact.
