Damon and Pythias Folklore Easy Reader Kit, A Greek Legend

This reading kit is designed to support students new to English, special education students, young readers, and students reading below grade level gain access to a text that may otherwise be too challenging.

The kit includes a little book at a 400L lexile level that cat be cut and arranged for guided reading instruction. It tells the Greek legend of Damon and Pythias, a folktale found in our curriculums that may not be accessible to struggling readers or students new to English.

The kit includes a 9 page little book telling the folktale, a set of vocabulary word cards, a plot map graphic organizer for retelling, and a characterization web that can be used to support analysis of the text.
