Practise finding density, mass and volume using density = mass ÷ volume. 16 questions, full answers included.

Worksheet (half page, 8 questions): the first four find the density of a metal block, a stone, a marble and a wooden cube, with the mass and volume labelled on a picture of each. The formula is then rearranged: two questions find the mass, with a ‘multiply both sides by the volume’ step shown, and two find the volume.

Further practice (half page, 8 questions): graded by difficulty, including comparing two blocks, completing a table, changing kilograms to grams first, finding the volume of a cuboid before its density, deciding whether a bath toy floats, how much heavier a steel block is than an aluminium one, and explaining why a bigger block of the same metal does not have a bigger density.

Answers to all 16 questions are included as a separate file.

Suitable for GCSE Foundation (AQA R11) and for Key Stage 3 classes working on density.
