A model text of a diary recount written by Oliver Twist. The diary entry describes how Oliver drew straws and had to ask for more food. This model text can be used with Years 4 and 5 and fits in nicely with a topic about Victorians. The children can innovate using this model and create diary entries of their own about another part of the story (see when Oliver meets the Artful Dodger resources). There is also a Never Heard the Word Grid and word mats included.
