Different Social Groups in Russia

How did the structure of society make Russia difficult to rule? is a fully resourced KS3 History lesson exploring the social hierarchy of Tsarist Russia before the Russian Revolution. Students investigate the roles of different social groups, analyse historical interpretations of Tsar Nicholas II, and evaluate which groups were most likely to support or oppose the Tsar. The lesson develops source analysis, interpretation and judgement skills through engaging activities including whiteboard retrieval, categorisation, discussion tasks and extended written responses.
