Practise dividing by a decimal: see how many lots of the divisor fit, then multiply both numbers by 10 or 100 so the division is by a whole number. 16 questions on one A4 page, full answers included.

Worksheet (questions 1 to 8): the first question counts jumps of 0.7 up to 2.8 and thinks of both numbers in tenths, then ×10 frames show both numbers scaled up together. The support fades through divisors such as 0.03 and 0.08, ending with cutting a plank into equal pieces and using 96 ÷ 8 = 12 to find 9.6 ÷ 0.8.

Further practice (questions 9 to 16): graded by difficulty. Choosing the two calculations that give the same answer as 3.6 ÷ 0.09, portions in a bag of rice, a missing number, the length of a rectangle from its area and width, how many stickers can be bought with the change, and explaining why 5.6 ÷ 0.7 is not 0.8.

Answers to all 16 questions are included as a separate file.

Suitable for GCSE Foundation (AQA N2) and for Key Stage 3 classes working on decimals.
