Continuation of my Meditation Blog. This started on 28th September in New York and ends on 30th October back in England. I have some notes in my diary which still need to be written up to include in this so I will add a few more files over the next few days. Some friends say I should edit the whole record and make it into a book!!! Well we will see about that.

I love the moon but not sure if it affects my goals. A few weeks ago the moon was half full. It looked like a golden smile, You could imagine a black Cheshire cat would look like that! Just one great, bright, slice of a smile. The full moon came exactly on the anniversary of our Teacher's passing - 11th October. I noticed it when it was high in the sky, quite distant and surrounded by a halo of pale rainbow light. This morning the moon was very bright, like a silver plum, sharply contrasting with the ink-black sky. Orion with 'his belt' is arranged in the sky over the meditation garden when I arrive at 6am, framed by the trees. I find the sky really inspiring and the moon is very much a part of that, but I have not yet become aware of any way that the phases of the moon affect my moods or my goals. At the moment, especially as I am aware that this surprising and wonderful 'interlude and spiritual opportunity' here is drawing to a close (less than two weeks before I return to UK) I am praying with ever more intensity - for surrender. That is my only goal because without surrender what ever I do is flawed by my human ignorance - fears, insecurities, desires... all the things we are plagued with. Only if we can make progress in giving God our surrender are we really in tune with what He wants us to do. 'Let Thy Will Be Done' is at the heart of all the religions. Islam means 'The peace that comes when we surrender to God's Will' and a Muslim is someone who is striving to surrender to God's Will. At least that is how some Muslims have explained the meaning of these words. I have no clear idea of how things will be or what I will be doing when I come back to England. I will continue to work on my business ideas, continue to look for work in RE, but I need to be open to anything else that God wishes for my life - this experience has shown me that, with great clarity. Caring for someone who is ill is not something I would ever have considered, but it has proved a most valuable experience. My mother is 92 and her sight is not too good. She lives on her own 7 miles from the nearest shops - and can not drive any more. She really needs someone to be around at least part of every day. Perhaps that is a role I am being prepared for. What I need more than anything is to be completely open and as aware as possible so that I can respond to the inner promptings of the Spirit. So I pray and cry for surrender.
