This resource was made to support the new Eduqas GCE A level specification, first exam June 2018 (Area of Study C: Question 2). The first listening question (part 1) is Maria from West Side Story by Bernstein and the second part involves comparing this extract with Empty Chairs at Empty Tables from Les Miserables by Schoenberg.
The resource consists of three parts: two recordings, student question paper and a marking scheme. It is also a useful unfamiliar listening resource for other specifications with a Musical Theatre option (i.e. AQA).
