This is an edited version of the original story and questions. My year 5/6 class greatly enjoyed this activity and we spent 3 sessions solving the problems and then creating some new problems based on the story. We discovered some spelling and grammar errors that have been fixed. During our plenary sessions we agreed some questions were ambiguous so we rewrote 2 or 3 of them.
I should have mentioned but you may notice that some of the questions are in italics, these are intended to be the extension questions for your more abled.
