This is an activity for a Smart Board interactive whiteboard. It is a good starter for using when discussing living and non living organisms and the 7 life processes - MRS GREN (or MRS NERG!). There are various pictures on the board of living and non living things, which pupils have to come and drag under 2 columns - one for living and one for non living. They then have to say how they decided. I did this with a year 7 class to recap what they had done in year 6 and it was surprising that there was quite a lot of debate over which ones were living and which weren't.
I adapted this from another game on here. Pupils work in 4s of 5s. They deal out the cards. The first pupil picks up a card and states their category (i.e. ozone). Everyone then states the concentration that they have for ozone. The person with the LOWEST number wins all the cards from that round (I chose lowest rather than highest as we want our air pollution to be low). First person to get all the cards wins. Please leave feedback.
