This is an introduction to how you can develop y=mx+c given two values. The sheet asks pupils to actually plot the points and join the lines in order to figure out the gradient and the y-intercept. It is a perfect intermediate step to developing the equation of a straight line from two given points but pupils will need to then do the process algebraically. This sheet can be used to nudge them towards calculating the gradient using the points before using substitution to develop the value of 'c'.

A useful scaffolded worksheet on gradient and y-intercept. This would be ideal for a Y8 class. Thanks for sharing!
