Equivalent fractions & fraction of a number

Worksheet resources intended for lower ability year 3 pupils. The cupcake worksheet I designed for using prior to the children using real cupcakes set out in trays of twelve. Children worked in pairs and were given a fraction to divide their cupcakes out onto plates and decorate. This embedded their understanding and they could clearly visual that one plate with a half was the same as two plates with a quarter.
