CELEBRATE THE EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES WITH US!

We’ve created a set of visual and cross-curricular resources to celebrate Europe’s linguistic diversity. All the resources are available in English and Spanish.

In this bundle you’ll find:

  1. BUNTING
With the European countries with their official and recognised languages. It is perfect to decorate the MFL department or/and the whole school. We’ve strived to include all, but it’s been a hard task so please let us know if we’ve missed any! :)

  2. PASSPORT/QUIZ
A European Day of Languages Passport. This can be used for a school competition and it can be completed in forms, in assembly or individually by students. It includes one task per page that covers subjects such as languages, geography, history, science, English and maths. The answers are included.

  3. QUOTES (POSTERS, CARDS)
A colourful set of 16 quotes to promote language learning and to raise the profile of MFL. These can be used in a display or to decorate the school.

  4. EDOL TREASURE HUNT
A treasure hunt type of task for students to complete around the school. It includes 14 questions on the following subjects: music, geography, technology, PE, art, history, English, food technology, drama, computer science, dance, business studies, mathematics and science. This is the perfect opportunity to review some key content over those subjects and to make students aware of the influence of worldwide events and people. Answers are included too.
Students can play individually or in teams. Place the posters with the information around the school (we like to put them near the relevant department), give each participant/team a question sheet and give them some time to have fun finding the answers.

  5. FIND SOMEONE WHO…
This is a task that allows students to speak to others and become aware of their contact with other languages. Give a grid to each student (or group of students), they need to talk to people and fill each section with at least, one name. We prefer to encourage them to find school staff to fill each box, but students can also be involved.

Please, let us know what you think with a review :)
