EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES This is a free Europe bunting sampler featuring five countries, their capital cities and flags: Austria, Estonia, Finland, Portugal and Slovakia.
The full set is as follows:
Create an instant introduction to Europe and brighten up your learning environment with this bunting showing European countries, capital cities and flags, giving your classroom a great multicultural look and feel. It’s an ideal display for the annual European Day of Languages and Europe Day festivals, and great as a year-round display resource. There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the bunting does help students develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of Europe and its geography. The bunting works just as well in the geography classroom as the world languages classroom, aligning learning between language and knowledge of the world.
I’ve also included a range of islands, such as the Faroe Islands, to extend students’ knowledge of Europe a little further, as well as several countries, for example Armenia, that are often classed as belonging either to Europe or to Asia. Each bunting banner has a small tag which I use to hang with a clip from a ‘washing line’ across the classroom and other learning areas - alphabetically
works well, though non-alphabetically is perfect for a country quest activity! Laminate if you can - there’s a lot of prep, and certainly the bunting will use a lot of ink, but laminated the bunting will last for ever!
