A PowerPoint resource encouraging students to explore context, theme, characterisation and structure in The Crucible. Intended for IB English Language and Literature students who were studying The Crucible alongside A Doll’s House but can be easily adapted for use with other sixth form groups or GCSE students. I started by showing students the 1996 film version of the The Crucible directed by Nichoas Hytner and then worked through the whole play reading and dramatising key scenes. Various independent learning tasks are set throughout the presentation, some obviously exam-based.
