This activity pack is designed to help students understand and practice using nonfiction text features commonly found in informational books and articles. Through a collection of 10 structured worksheets, learners explore important features such as headings, captions, bold words, glossaries, diagrams, tables, graphs, indexes, photographs, maps, and labels. Each worksheet includes a clear task followed by 11 practice examples, giving students multiple opportunities to apply their knowledge and build confidence in reading informational texts.

The activities encourage students to identify, interpret, and use text features to locate information, understand vocabulary, and interpret visual data. Tasks vary from matching and multiple-choice questions to writing captions, interpreting tables and graphs, and selecting the most appropriate text feature for different situations. This variety supports the development of reading comprehension, critical thinking, and informational literacy skills.

These worksheets are suitable for upper elementary learners and can be used in classroom instruction, guided reading groups, independent practice, homework assignments, or assessment activities. By completing the exercises, students strengthen their ability to navigate nonfiction texts effectively and use text features to better understand and organize information.
