Get your students to do a little research and present in poster form on Famous Mathematicians. We often miss the opportunity to open our students eyes to the awe and wonder of our subject. The history of maths is the history of civilisation. I print out the attached file which is simply a list of 30 mathematicians and give one to each student as a poster homework first lesson back in September. The results are often breath taking and I genuinely enjoy looking at much later in the year. Have also set this as a group presentation project. I hope this works for you!
