A revision power point containing 14 revision tables targeting key grade C topics with some of the grade B topics that a grade C pupil can attempt. Topics include solving equations, four rules of fractions, standard form, graphs etc. Topics are repeated on some slides for extra practice. Twelve topics are revised per slide. On power point so you can adapt/amend as you need. I found that one table lasts as a starter for 2 lessons allowing for approx. 15 mins at start of each lesson.
Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Test papers and answers for Level 3-5 and Level 6
There are 2 sets of test papers with answers for Level 3-5 and 3 sets test papers with answers for Level 6. These may be used as an assessment tool over the year.
I have also created Poweproint presentations for each test so that the teachers have the choice and can use these for practice within lessons, for short grammar sessions and for revision.
Both Level 3-5 and Level 6 are in the style of the GPS Tests 2014.
I have used these resources for both practice and testing with an outstanding outcome.
In this lesson children will learn all about Mayan written language, their hieroglyphics, glyphs and logograms.
After an engaging multimedia teaching input, they will explain their understanding of the objective and go on to draw comparisons with how we communicate in the 21st Century.
This is then followed by an activity that enables the children to design their own logograms/hieroglyphics in a Mayan style.
Complete 1hr lesson (could run to 90 mins) including...
- PowerPoint: starter activity, teaching input (with web resource and video links) and a plenary activity.
- Worksheet pack with two worksheets plus extension activity for any early finishers.
- Teachers' notes.
Enhance understanding of area and volume factors by using these worksheets to calculate the surface area and volume of shapes before and after enlargement.
Revise volume and area formulas at the same time. Calculate the area and volume factors by using the scale factor and see how the answer relates to the answers achieved from using formulas.
Also calculate scale, area and volume factors given one of the three factors using roots and powers.
DfE GCSE 2017 reference G19, G16, R2, N6
Please review this worksheet.
The loop cards can be used as tool for assessment of prior learning, progress and revision. Students need to match the question on one card with the answer on another card, like dominoes.
The answer sheet is given at the end of the document.
This is good to do a pace and challenge activity.
From the gory details of mummification to the technicalities of controlling the flooding of 'The Nile', there is a wealth of fascinating information contained in these songs. 'Gods and Goddesses' and 'Hieroglyphics' are featured and Tutankhamun gets more than a passing mention in two songs, one more light-hearted than the other! 'Pyramids', 'The Sphinx' and 'Toys and Games' round up this whistle-stop tour of Ancient Egypt!
This set of songs on 'Ancient Egypt' consists of:
* 20 mp3 files, with both vocal and piano backing tracks
* a PDF of the music and lyrics
* an illustrated PowerPoint of each song for use with digital projectors and whiteboards
* a separate Word document of the lyrics.
No licence is required for performing any of my material, and the music and lyrics may be copied freely for use within or by your school.
Three differentiated sheets that can be used to record finding fractions of a number. Cubes/numicon are suggested as objects children can use to carry out this activity. Aligned with Common Core State Standards: 3.NF.3, Number and Operations: Fractions; 4.NF.1, Number and Operations: Fractions.
Two slightly different presentations showing the method of finding fractions of whole numbers. One (in my opinion) is easier to understand as it has a worded formula on how to find a fraction of a whole number. Animations included!
A selection of resources that i produced for our recent Year 6 leavers prom.
This year it had the theme of The Oscars. After spending a long time tryiing to find suitable resources, i drew a blank.
I then decided to create my own. This involved the children coming up with a selection of funny award categories to be handed out on prom night.
It also involved the children taking part in a film and movie quiz.
All resources are easily adapotable to suit the users needs
A selection of classic board games that I have adapted for independent use by children to practise or test each other on their 'weekly spelling words&' in a fun and interactive way. I laminate the rules and game boards back to back so they last for a long time. The only other equipment required are counters and spelling words to be written on the spelling cards sheet and then photocopied and cut up for each playing pair
